I admit that I do not use Facebook often.  If you open my Facebook account, you would just see my picture, the few friends that I have as well as the few information that I was able to share in Facebook.  But if you use Facebook often and if you want to jazz it up to make it more fun to look, more presentable as well as funky, there are a lot of Facebook layouts and themes that are available to do so.  Here are some of the applications that you can use to brighten up your Facebook profile.

Expression Layout

Expression layout was developed by Mike Mullen and Cory Shop that you can use to add different backgrounds to your page.  This is quite similar to the wallpapers that are available in Friendster but the difference is that in Friendster, this profile is already in tact as it is a basic feature in this networking site.  Whereas, in Facebook, Expressions is a separate application. This is a good choice if you’re the type who wants to a different Facebook layout or theme

SuperProfile Facebook layout

This is an application that an anonymous user has designed in order for the customization of your Facebook theme.  SuperProfile even stated that using it is an assurance that you would be able to meet new friends.

My Etsy Facebook Theme

Ian Van Ness developed this application in order for you to present your wares and favorites from its website, http://www.etsy.com.

Flickr Loves You Facebook Layout

Luke Bunselmeyer designed this application in order for you to get the pictures that you have stored in your Flickr account and post them in Facebook.

Courses Facebook Theme

This application that Colin Schmidt and Jonathan Chapman developed serves to provide a means for users to edit the Facebook layout themselves.  Here, they can load classes into their Facebook profile, organize your classmates list as well as conduct group discussions with your classmates.  You can set up a virtual bulletin board where you can leave messages to your classmates, for example.  You can even include your class pictures if you would like to do it.

DVDActive Layout

DVDActive is basically an application that gives you updated news about DVDs, Blue-Ray discs and HD DVD releases.  Though this is the case, DVDActive allows you to change the layout and the data that are displayed by this application.

Though there are applications that were added to jazz up and customize your Facebook layout and themes as well as the layout that Facebook has, there are a certain number of individuals and groups that do not like the current layout that Facebook has.  For instance, a global network, which has twelve thousand, four hundred and one members, has mentioned that they do not like the news feeds that Facebook has added to the layout and they would like to have it changed back to the previous layout.  In addition, another global network that has six thousand, one hundred and thirteen members has cried out for the friends list layout to be reverted back to the previous one.  According to this group, there must be an indication for relationship details in the friends list as well as enlarge friends' pictures.
